Peconic View
Cottage 2
Fully renovated in 2025 and set right on the water, Cottage 2 is the crown jewel of the property. Wide-plank floors and whitewashed knotty pine carry a mid-century modern sensibility throughout, dressed in whites, beiges, and creams with complementing natural textures. Sliding glass doors run the width of the living room, making the bay view visible from the entire open-concept living space. It's sophisticated, serene, and a guest favorite.
From this perch right on the water, you can watch the weather roll in, the sun go down, or the light glistening on the water as the boats go by all day long. With outdoor lounge and dining seating for eight, a beverage refrigerator, and a propane grill, the deck extends the cottage's living space, allowing guests to take full advantage of the stunning view and the sea breeze.
An oversized chaise is the best seat in the house — for reading, for relaxing, or simply for taking in the view. An electric fireplace keeps things cozy when the evenings turn cool, and the water is never out of sight.
A skylight floods the kitchen with natural light, setting the tone for a space that feels open, polished, and beautifully composed. The glass-topped dining table keeps the room visually light, while a custom rolling island and wine-glass console add tailored function for entertaining. Together, the details create a seamless flow between kitchen and dining, with every piece chosen to enhance both the beauty and the use of the space.
The spacious primary suite features a king bed, a reading nook, a full en-suite bath, and a walk-in closet. The second king room is similarly generous and is anchored by a family heirloom mid-century modern highboy. A queen bedroom with its own half-bath and exceptional water views is a coastal retreat in and of itself. The petite fourth bedroom brings a touch of playful East End character, while a high-riser bed gives the room the versatility to serve as a cozy den or comfortable sleeping quarters for one or two guests of any age.
Seafaring details are woven quietly through the grounds of The Captain's House, from nautical lighting to weathered timber pilings. For those who enjoy fishing or harvesting seafood, the bay offers the pleasure of bringing the day's catch straight to the table. Oregano, lemon thyme, and mint return to the cottage's herb garden each year, and guests are welcome to plant their own favorites, as well, to inspire and complement meals grilled on the deck or finished in the kitchen. For the home chef, having such freshness at hand is one of the quiet luxuries of elegant East End summer living.
All six cottages are located on the same Peconic Bay waterfront property, extending from the road to the private beach.
